The Cannabis Quality Control and Quality Assurance program is developed to provide the training and technical knowledge for the implementation of Quality Assurance in the Canadian Cannabis Industry. The program covers Good Production Practices including Quality Control – Specifications and Analytical Testing Requirements, the regulatory requirements for Quality Assurance Person (QAP), Cannabis science, the fundamentals of Quality Management Systems, in Cannabis including policies, processes and procedures and their relationship to risk management, and the application of licensing under the Canadian Regulations.

This program provides students with the skills, the technical knowledge and the qualifications for assuring that each cannabis product is safe and suitable for sale or to be provided under the Cannabis Act. The Cannabis Quality Control and Quality Assurance training provides course materials and workshop that will allow students to develop and implement written procedures for the approval or rejection of all procedures, specifications, test methods, controls and results that affect the purity, quality and composition of the cannabis product. The students will find this most useful in their future roles as QA/QC in the Cannabis or related industries.

Cannabis Schools in Canada will provide this Cannabis program for students with the required skills needed for the role and responsibilities of a Quality Assurance Person in Cannabis Industry and/or as Quality Control in related industries. There are lots of demands for Quality Assurance and Quality Control employees in the Cannabis Industry as the industry is struggling to have qualified workforce in newly booming regulated industry.

Admission Requirements

Minimum of grade 12 education with either (Biology or Chemistry) and Math. Domestic and International students are welcome to apply at NACPT Pharma College.

After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Meet the Health Canada’s requirements of the responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Person (QAP) and Quality Control (QC) Analyst in the Cannabis Industry
  • Perform relevant cannabis product tests are carried out and that products are not released for sale, until their quality has been determined to be satisfactory by confirming that products specifications are met
  • Develop cannabis technical procedures, policies and protocols
  • Design Inspection and regulatory inspection methods for cannabis operation
  • Develop current QA practices in cannabis bio-technology
  • Establish quality management systems and risk management within cannabis companies for better performance
